Hyunju (Laeticia) Ock focuses on conveying NewClimate Institute’s messages and research to a wider audience in a clear and accessible manner. Her responsibilities include providing writing and editing support to ensure the clear communication of scientific insights, creating content for the website and social media, and contributing to the development and execution of the institute’s broader communications strategy.

Before joining NewClimate Institute, Hyunju was a journalist for South Korea’s largest English-language newspaper, The Korea Herald, for over 7 years. Her work revolved around news reporting and creating content for diverse platforms on political and social issues, covering topics from the green energy transition to climate justice. She holds an MA in Journalism, Media, and Globalisation with a specialisation in political communication from University of Amsterdam and Aarhus University, and a BA in Political Science and Diplomacy from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
